Born with a failing heart, Kamo has fought death his whole life, but to no avail. The plot revolves around Natsuru Senou, a normal high school boy with blue hair. One day he wakes up to find himself turned into a girl. A stuffed tiger "Harakiri Tora" comes to life and tells him that he has been chosen as one of the "Kämpfer", a female fighter. The Kämpfer are destined to fight with other Kämpfer. The story starts when he is attacked by an unknown girl who happens to also be a Kämpfer.

A spin-off work starring Kamui, one of the main characters of Kamui-den. The first 2 volumes were published in a Shounen magazine and ended with the 20th chapter in 1971. The manga changed art style and direction when it switched to a Seinen publication in 1988. The violent and sexual explicit part of the narrative was the basis for the American adaptation by Eclipse Comics in the 1980s and its unedited Viz re-release in 1999.
