Beyond the mist-filled alleyways in the concrete crevices of Los Angeles' Chinatown hides a mysterious pet shop, home to many bizarre yet friendly creatures. However, his newfound peace is short-lived as Kaneki gets caught in the middle of a war between his friends and the CCG's forces, whilst ghouls from all over Tokyo show interest in him.
