In the romantic novel Hikari no Densetsu, the main character is Hikari Kamijou, a junior high school student in the 1980s who dreams of becoming a top rhythmic gymnast. However, her insecurities and lack of success weigh her down. Nevertheless, she persists with unwavering determination and devotion to the sport, drawing inspiration from Diliana Georgieva, a renowned Bulgarian rhythmic gymnast. Together with three comrades who are pursuing their own aspirations, Hikari endeavors to enhance her routines, although she has much to learn and can be prone to carelessness.

At Tokyo Butei High School, teens undergo rigorous training to become combat detectives, known as "Butei". Among the students is Touyama Kinji, an unremarkable young man with a unique ability to enter "Hysteria Mode" uncontrollably when near girls. During his Hysteria Mode, Kinji becomes an unstoppable force, fixated on protecting women, although he keeps this ability hidden. When a Butei killer targets Kinji and rigs his bicycle to explode, he is saved by transfer student Aria H. Kanzaki, an expert in assault. However, Aria discovers Kinji's Hysteria Mode and becomes fascinated by it, refusing to leave him alone.

Dayeon's uncomplicated existence is set to be disturbed when she bears witness to the split of the most popular couple in school, namely Sahoon and Suji. From Shortcake Club: Asaki Hibana (16), a member of the Hibana family, a prestigious family of exorcists, is a once-in-a-century genius, but because she can see demons that ordinary people cannot, she is regarded as weird by those around her, and she is worried about not being able to make friends. Asaki's grandfather, the current head of the Hibana family, tells her that her condition for quitting as an exorcist is to capture the Hibana family's sworn enemy, the Yatagarasu clan.
