For as long as he can remember, Chuuta Kokonose, a 14-year-old boy, has been tormented by an elusive voice in his head, causing his peers to ridicule him for talking to himself. One day, an otherworldly creature, resembling a jellyfish with three eyes, pays him a visit, and he is transported to a galactic police station where he meets a diverse cast of inhabitants. The bureau's chief, Laine Brick, sees great potential in Chuuta and invites him to join their agency, ēlDLIVE. Chuuta's crush, Misuzu Sonokata, already a member of ēlDLIVE, opposes his joining, citing his lack of qualifications. Nevertheless, encouraged by the mysterious voice, Chuuta takes the qualifying exam, only to discover that the voice is actually an extraterrestrial coexisting within him all along. Together with Misuzu and their fellow agents, Chuuta dedicates himself to maintaining order and protecting the various worlds under the agency's jurisdiction.

During the Edo period, Japan faced an unexpected invasion from extraterrestrial beings referred to as the "Amanto." The samurai fought hard to defeat them, but it was an impossible task to accomplish. Thus, the Shogun reluctantly agreed to surrender, leading to a fragile treaty between the Shogunate and the Amanto. This treaty had a colossal impact on Japan, prohibiting the use of swords and utterly extinguishing the samurai spirit. Nevertheless, one man, determined to rekindle his samurai legacy, refused to let his spirit die. Gintoki Sakata, an idiosyncratic character wielding a wooden sword, makes a living by performing miscellaneous tasks. He is accompanied by Shinpachi Shimura, his understudy, Kagura, a powerful alien, and a massive dog named Sadaharu. Together, these characters jointly operate the Yorozuya business, often engaging in bizarre and comical incidents. Furthermore, the manga series features several one-shot stories like "Dandelion," "Shirokuro," "13," and "Bankara-san ga Tooru," published in volumes 1, 2, 24, and 38, respectively.

The manga is comprised of several distinct tales that revolve around the endeavors of the Crossbone Vanguard throughout and following the conclusion of the original series, with an exception being the initial story that transpires during the One Year War and delves into the younger days of Crossbone pilot Umon Samon. Moreover, the series introduces the reappearance of Grey Stork, who is an elderly depiction of Judau Ashta, and who had previously surfaced in Hasegawa's V Gundam Sidestory manga.
Zeon National Public Safety Division Investigator, Leopold Fieseler, was deeply entrenched in his investigation of a series of devastating terrorist bombings that had shaken Side 3 in December of UC0073. Without warning, he received a call from an old friend from childhood, Elise Ann Finnegan, with whom he had lost contact over the years. Elise, now employed in the Prefectural Office, urgently requested a meeting with Leopold. When they finally met, Elise handed him a disc containing a list of Zeon Officials at risk of assassination. What caught Leopold's attention, besides the urgency of the situation, was that all the officials were somehow connected to the bombings he was currently investigating. Initially, Leopold suspected that the list had been leaked to the press. However, upon closer inspection, he made a shocking discovery. The list included not only those that had already been victimized by the bombings, but also others, including the name of one that sent chills down his spine - "Commander Gihren Zabi," the leader of the Principality of Zeon.
Universal Century 0079. The Magellan-class battleship Toutatis tracked a Musai-class ship on its way towards Side 2 for a preemptive attack following the Duchy of Zeon's declaration of war. Eventually they crash-landed on the Island Iffish colony and what they saw there was a landscape wiped out by poison gas, realizing Zeon's aim to drop the colony on the Earth. The Toutatis, equipped with a nuclear warhead, attempts to destroy the colony. Meanwhile, a Zaku platoon had entered the colony by chance, ordered to subdue and silence dissent among friendly forces.
AEUG Ensign Reccoa Londe tipped off Lieutenant Quattro (known as Char Aznable) and his team, including Lieutenant JGs Apolly and Roberto, about potential mobile suit development occurring in the Green Noa civilian colonies. The team heads to Green Noa to investigate. Meanwhile, Kamille Bidan rushes to the spaceport at Green Noa 1 in the hope of getting an autograph from famed Captain Bright Noa, who is on duty. Jerid and his companions interrupt and taunt Bright about his recent two rank demotion for refusing to join the Titans. Jerid grabs Kamille's photo and tries to force Bright to sign it as an elite member of the Federation. A brawl erupts, and Kamille is taken into custody for questioning by Matosh. After confirming Kamille's story, he is released from captivity just as the Gundam MK-II violently crashes into the building.
